Kwabena Addae Antwi (born 23rd January), popularly known by his stage
name as Mandem is an afro dancehall/afrobeat artist from Ghana.
Mandem was born in Tema and attended Tema Technical Institute where he studied electricals. Mandem’s passion for music started when he was only fourteen (14) years and in junior high school.
He used to listen to musical legends both locally and internationally from whom he learnt how to rap and sing to beats and eventually began to write his own songs.
He started as rapper and later found love for Afro dancehall and afrobeat when he met Vybrant Faya in 2014 (a nominee for best new Artist and reggae/dancehall song) for the first time inside Rekx Studio, Tema. Vybrant fell in love with his voice and advised him to try more dancehall songs. He has two singles and one music video to his credit and is currently working on his first EP.
On the 18th of October at Bourbon house Cafe in Labone, Mandem is doing his first Press listening and interaction. He’s very confident his contribution to the music industry will bring tremendous excitement.
