VGMA22 : Kofi Kinaata Receives Ghs 10,000 From Vodafone As Green Award Winner

Telecommunications Giant, Vodafone Ghana, has crowned Ghanaian songwriter and musician, Martin King Arthur, popularly known as Kofi Kinaata as the winner of the ‘Vodafone Green Award’ at the 22nd Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) held on Saturday, 26th June 2021. The ‘Vodafone Green Award’ was introduced by Vodafone Ghana to acknowledge and support musicians who use their crafts to drive environmental awareness and sustainability of the planet. The highlife artist who received a recognition plaque during the VGMA on Saturday has also received Ghs10,000 for winning the Vodafone Green Award with his song dubbed, ‘Illegal Fishing [Closed Season]’. Puma Energy Fise Station Rewards Taxi Driver With A Car

The Puma Energy Fise Station last Friday 25th June 2021 rewarded loyal customers with the highest prize being a car as part of its five-year anniversary.   Paul Buabeng, a Taxi Driver won a Suzuki Alto, beating hundreds who entered the draw. Other prizes won on the day include motorbike, home and electronic appliances such as mobile phones, fridges, television, and home theatre sets. Hundreds of drivers attended last Friday’s draw at the station located at Fise on the Accra-Nsawam Road. Yesterday at the Grand Arena in Accra, 4 distinguished personalities who have stood for excellence in their various fields in the music industry over the years were honored. Vodafone Ghana Foundation Marks World Sickle Cell Day With Tree Planting Exercise

As part of efforts to mark Sickle Cell awareness day, Vodafone Ghana Foundation in collaboration with Gibeleen and Sandra Foundation (GNS Foundation), and the Forestry Commission have planted over 150 tree seedlings at the Vodafone WI-FI Park, Accra Zoo to remember ‘sickle cell fallen heroes.   The event forms part of the Foundation’s ‘Birthday Stars which seeks to execute monthly projects tied to employees’ birthday celebrants to mark selected international days, in line with the United Nations’ (UN) Sustainable Development Goals. UBA Ghana Donates African Literature Books To Four Senior High Schools To Mark Internatonal Day Of The African Child

UBA Ghana has donated boxes of various African Literature Books to four Senior High Schools to commemorate the 2021 International Day of the African Child.   The beneficiary schools were Accra Academy Senior High School, Accra Girls’ Senior High School, Teshie Technical Institute all in the Greater Accra region and St Paul’s SHS in the Volta region. The International Day of the African Child, is a day set aside to by the United Nations to celebrate Africa children on the 16th of June every year. This donation is in line with the UBA Foundation commitment to the education of African Youth through the Read Africa Project. Presenting the books to the various schools, Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications, Henry Nii Dottey, said UBA is committed to rekindle the dwindling reading culture amongst African youths.

Absa Bank Plants 5,000 Trees To Support Green Ghana Initiative

As part of Absa Bank’s commitment to sustainable development, the bank joined the Green Ghana national campaign championed by the Government of Ghana to plant five million trees to help improve Ghana’s green cover and save the depleting forest reserves. Collaborating with the Forestry Commission, employees of the bank in a nationwide exercise, supported the initiative by planting 5,000 trees seedlings from commission, to commemorate the Green Ghana Day.
